The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) Ad Hoc Ecosystem Workgroup (EWG) is holding an online meeting, which is open to the public. The online meeting will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific Time or until business is completed. This meeting is being conducted remotely with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment. In the event an outage occurs or technical issues arise that impact the experience of remote attendees, we will attempt to resolve them but ultimately we cannot guarantee that they will be resolved satisfactorily.

Purpose of the meeting

During this meeting the EWG will 1) review progress on Fishery Ecosystem Plan Initiative 4 and 2) discuss the contents of reports on agenda items for the June 2024 Pacific Council meeting.

The purpose of this online meeting is for the MPC to consider current offshore wind (OSW) energy and aquaculture issues and to provide information and advice to the Pacific Council for consideration at its June 2024 meeting. Topics will include updates on state and Federal OSW activities, and other OSW or aquaculture topics, as appropriate.

Purpose of the meeting

The purpose of the Workgroup is to develop potential improvements to SRFC assessment and management for Pacific Council consideration that would evaluate current management measures, provide a workplan to accomplish the work, and eventually provide new or updated products for Pacific Council consideration.  This meeting will likely focus on collecting and summarizing relevant information on SRFC stock status, reviewing the current models and methods used for harvest management, and identifying data gaps.  A draft outline of the workplan could be developed for discussion at the next meeting.

The Coastal Pelagic Species (CPS) Subcommittee of the Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council’s) Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC) will hold an online meeting to review and update the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the CPS Stock Assessment Review Process for 2025 and 2026 and Accepted Practices Guidelines for CPS Stock Assessments document. The meeting is open to the public, and will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024 beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until 1 p.m. Pacific Time or until business for the day has been completed. This meeting is being conducted remotely with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment. Purpose of the meeting

The purpose of the SSC CPS Subcommittee meeting is to (a) is to review proposed changes to the Terms of Reference for CPS Stock Assessment Reviews that will inform the process of conducting and reviewing CPS assessments in 2025 and 2026 and (b) update best practices for conducting CPS stock assessments.  Members of the Pacific Council’s CPS advisory bodies are encouraged to attend.
