Ad Hoc Ecosystem Workgroup to hold online meeting December 4, 2023
The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) Ad Hoc Ecosystem Workgroup (EWG) will hold an online meeting, which is open to the public. The online meeting will be held Monday, December 4, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific Time, or until business for the day is completed. This meeting is being conducted remotely with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment. In the event an outage occurs or technical issues arise that impact the experience of remote attendees, we will attempt to resolve them but ultimately we cannot guarantee that they will be resolved satisfactorily.
Purpose of the meeting
The purpose of this online EWG meeting is to review Pacific Council guidance on further work on its Fishery Ecosystem Plan Initiative addressing the provision of ecosystem and climate information in its management processes. Based on this review, the EWG will consider what activities it wishes to develop further as part of this initiative. It will report its recommendations to the Pacific Council at its March 2024 meeting.

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) ad hoc Klamath River Fall Chinook Workgroup (Workgroup) will hold an online meeting that is open to the public. The online meeting will be held Monday, November 20, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, or until business for the day concludes.
This meeting is being conducted remotely with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment. In the event an outage occurs or technical issues arise that impact the experience of remote attendees, we will attempt to resolve them but ultimately we cannot guarantee that they will be resolved satisfactorily.
Purpose of the meeting
The primary purpose of the meeting is KRWG consideration and discussion of preliminary recommendations to inform Council decision making for the 2024 salmon pre-season management process.

Economics Subcommittee of the Scientific and Statistical Committee to hold online meeting October 24, 2023 to review the economic analysis associated with sablefish gear switching alternatives being considered by the Pacific Council.
Habitat Committee to hold online meeting October 24-25, 2023
The primary purpose of the meeting is for the HC to prepare for the November 2023 Pacific Council meeting. The HC will discuss items related to management items and other matters on the Pacific Council’s November agenda. No management actions will be decided by HC. The HC recommendations will be considered by the Pacific Council at their November 2023 meeting.

Groundfish Advisory Subpanel to hold online meeting Monday, October 23, 2023
The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Pacific Council) will convene a webinar meeting of its Groundfish Advisory Subpanel (GAP) to discuss items on the Pacific Council’s November 2023 meeting agenda. Additionally, members of the Ecosystem Working Group (EWG) and Groundfish Management Team (GMT) will have a joint session with the GAP to discuss ecosystem matters. This meeting is open to the public and will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time or when business for the day is completed. This meeting is being conducted remotely with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment. In the event an outage occurs or technical issues arise that impact the experience of remote attendees, we will attempt to resolve them but ultimately we cannot guarantee that they will be resolved satisfactorily.
Purpose of the meeting
The primary purpose of the GAP meeting is to prepare for the Pacific Council’s November 2023 Pacific Council meeting. The GAP will discuss items related to the groundfish management items and other matters on the Pacific Council’s November agenda. Additionally, the GAP, GMT, and EWG will meet during the GAP webinar to discuss matters related to the Council’s fishery ecosystem plan initiative. No management actions will be decided by the GAP, GMT, or EWG. The GAP, GMT, and EWG recommendations will be considered by the Council at their November or March Council (ecosystem matters) meetings.
